Camshaft Q:

I was looking at this http://www.jbodyperformance.com/new/...catName=JP0868 . From my understanding when you swap your camshaft you have to recalibrate your ECU. Is this something that can be done at your normal shop, or do you have to get the dealership to do this?

dealer does not have the ability to reflash for a set of cams (until the day GM offers a set and gives them a program to upload for them). You need a shop that has the ability to unlock the PCM. I do not know of any currently that have that ability. The cams you listed do not have the LSA listed, so it is impossible to take a reasonable guess on if it will run on the stock program, but 19 horses on a forced induction setup is not that much more, my tentative guess, reasonable or not, is that it will run with your stock program. Probably not well and might set up a CEL for misfire, but it should at least run.

Yes they have done some testing on a totally stock SS and it run great with no code with the stock PCM program (no reflash).
