Are you talking about the stage kits from ZZP? What size pulley are you going with?

the stage kits from anyone really. they all seem to have options when it comes to those and im completely lost as to which is better or if there's a difference. I havent decided to buy one yet. no extra money. but when I do, maybe the 2.9?

I would recommend getting ZZP's kit ZZPerformance - ZZP Stage 2 Kit #ZZ-STG2K
You pretty much just pick whatever you want from the option lists, you can't pick a 2.9 with that kit but the 3.0 is just about the same honestly, and you can use your stock belt and pulley.

Oh and a stage kit is a stage kit, bigger injectors, smaller pulley, and a tune. Now, ZZP and I think OTTP have stage 3 kits which include a performance heat exchanger, but that's about it.

I think the ottp one is cheaper. I just didnt know the difference in the gm belt and the oversized tensioner pulley. ottp starts at 204 $.

Yeah but once you add the multiple pulley system that you'll need it'll be almost $300 haha, so either way is the same really. The oversized pulley and smaller belt do the same job, they keep the belt from slipping when you go with a smaller pulley. If you go with a 2.9, either way will work, but the belt will be easier. If you go with a 3.0, I wouldn't recommend either, because the stock belt fits perfectly on the 3.0.

No problem man, I was confused when I first started modding my balt too haha. And well I think it would be best to just send your pcm in, you don't want to start your car with the smaller pulley and larger injectors on the stock tune. Then, once you get your pcm back with the upgraded tune on it, go to a tuner and have him dial it in for you and you'll be all set

You can run 3in on stock belt? Is that with stock tensioner too? I'm on 3.1 and bought the shorter belt thinking I needed it!?!

^Awesome links
And if you can get it on then feel free to use it haha, I'm not the only one on this site that couldn't get the shorter belt on and I'm on a 3" pulley, God knows how GM does it. I'm on the stock belt and tensioner pulley and I'm having zero issues.

Put the stock belt back on today. Works just fine. I think the stage 2 belt is too short for 3.1 pulley. I have been smelling a skunky smell coming from the belt. Now that I swapped back to stock belt the smell is gone!

Learn something new everyday!
