Car Sputtering

my car has started sputtering around 6000-6500 recently. i have a stage 2, airbox mod, and gm exhaust. i also get some knock from the engine every once ina while. i dont run my car hard very often and i only use 92 and 93(when i can find it). i thought it might be my converter but i replaced the dp recently with another stock one and it still does it. is it my spark plugs, i cant remember excatly what type but i know their ngk's.

I would check the plugs, or you could have just got some bad gas. What do you put in her?

it does it in all gears, its been doing it for a while a few hundred fill ups since it started lol. i fill up about every 3 days or so. and i only put 92 in it and 93 when i can find it. its doing the same thing it did last time i had to replace the dp, its just not as bad as it was.

it could be a number of things. dirty gas, clogged injector, dirty fuel filter, spark plugs or wires. you can try running a few tanks of dry gas and/or fuel injector cleaner to see if it helps at all. might as well replace the fuel filter while you're at it. cheap n easy. new plugs are again cheap n easy.

well trial an error is the only way u'll know. ngk's one-step colder (BKR7E) are the plugs u should be running if i'm not mistaken.. If that doesn't help or if that's what ur running, try different plugs or gapping.

Def get the bkr7e. Gap below .40. I would get the coppers not the iridiums. They are cheaper and work more efficiently but don't quite last as long.. I would recommend setting the gap to .38.

I had this happen twice at the top of 2nd gear , it would hesitate for a sec then continue to pull to 7K . I dropped my SP gap from .40 to .33 and i hasn't happened since .

I tried all of them from .40 down to .30 , and for some odd reason the .33 idle's smooth and feel's the best for some reason . I know its tight , i just don't know why my car likes it so much .
