What all else is needed for f23 swap other than the mount, cables, and trans?

I assume you are still running an LSJ block with an oil cooler? Other than clearance issues it will bolt up fine. There is a massive interference of the shifter cable bracket top bolt part and the T-stat housing. This time around I hacked up the bracket to get the T-stat housing to clear. However, I think it may have turned out neater if I had modified the T-stat housing instead.

There is also interference with the oil cooler and that round hump on the transmission where the TOB connects to the line but it can be easily fixed by grinding down the casing a bit.

No oil cooler. It's a gen 3 block. I'm also using a lnf thermo housing because I'm doing the f23 swap at the same time.

yeah man. I even had a modified plate to run an external oil cooler. But then went this route. Now I just need to put the block on the stand. Get the pistons out. Put new pistons in.

So for the LSD did you pick up a Quaife? I just bought an f23 out of a Cavalier with a quaife in it actaully from an ad on this forum. Do you think any ol transmission shop could do the swap or is this pretty easy to mess up? I can't decide if I am going to wait until my current trans or clutch starts giving me problems or if I will go ahead and get the swap done this winter. Should make it a lot more fun for autocross were I have a lot of trouble putting power down out of a corner.

no. I went with a team green lsd insert. I expect to blow up a trans or 2.
I was actually gonna try to get that trans. It's different than the f23 that bolts up to our cars. As for the internals. I'm not too sure about it.
If by any chance the f23 survives some beatings. I'll get an actual lsd unit for a trans I can pick up anytime.

Yeah the casing is different but I really only bought it for the Quiafe, having a spare set of gears is a plus.

It will be interesting to see how it goes for you. I always wondered how long and how well those inserts would perform.

Your right. I may just finish the budgetline SS and the blue redline and sell them both. Can fetch a pretty penny

I daily drive my f150 platinum. It kills me in gas but I go anywhere and everywhere with it. I was gonna sell the truck and keep the redline but that may go out the window soon.
