saw that last night too, just think its a wrapped tube not like the tube weighed more in carbon fiber or steel any ways

 

It says aluminum carbon fiber.

CF isn't cheap, but that intake is... so I'd have to say no.

 

I see a regular metal intake with $20 of CF vinyl stuck on it.

 

That looks almost identical to the old Injen CAI for the SS/SC.

 

It's not real carbon fiber for $90.

Isn't CF hard to get right now because the military is using it? I think it's fake.

 

If it works what does it matter what its covered with. Better than spending 250 for an intake

 

look at the pics again its obviously not real. when was the last time you carbon fiber welded? although without the tacky carbon fiber vinyl it might not be a bad intake

 

so it is for looks only, 90$ is a decent price right??

An intake is an intake... that's what everyone always says. I'm not sure on this car tho cause all the cel issues... but a pipe is a pipe right? Someone said its the same design as the injen intake.. If its good enought for injen its good enough for me

 

^Injen sucks I had their intake it took 2 hours to put on and still didnt fit right and then they sent me this replacement that had a dent in it so it would fit.

 

pos ricey looking fake cf cai that is going to throw cels like nobodys business might as well just park ur car at the dealer!

 

I have the Injen and it took longer to remove the fender liner than it did to install the intake. It only took me about 45min - hour from lifting the car to setting it back down.

Yes a pipe is a pipe, but the main concern is MAF placement. If it is placed in the wrong spot it the air can be turbulant and effect the reading causing your engine to run rich or run lean and throw a CEL.

 

Regardless of it being fake, the look of it is cool. I wouldnt mind wrapping a CAI in real CF myself. the look of it is just, cool looking.
