Catch Can

i just got a catch can off of ebay. It didn't come with instructions. So, do i just splice the can in the vacuum line that goes from the valve cover to the intake? Or is there something i am not seeing? The can has to plugs on the top of it and a drain plug. Also, there is this small clear tube on the side, what is the purpose of that tube?

tube is to just be able to visually see how much is in there. which you probably will never use. just run a hose from the valve cover, to the can, out of the can, to the intake
