Changed my plugs. How do the old ones look?
I just changed all my plugs in my SC to the Zex 82003-4's. It was very easy to do for all of those who are interested in having it done. I took plenty of pics and will write a how-to if you guys feel the need for it.
I must say, after switching out the stock plugs for the zex, i can actually notice that the car pulls much smoother now than it ever has and idle has smoothed out as well. I give these plugs a
for now. we'll see how they handle my car over time.
I have some pics of the old plugs. They are a very dark color...sooty if anything and had a very strong gas smell. I'm guessing this is because i am modded and these plugs are the wrong heat range. Any input would be appreciated.

sure, i can write a detailed how to. I think someone already made a how to for the LSJ tho. If there is enough interest, i can make another one. I have lots of pics.

I'm old school
That plug chart is SOOO dated. Still acurate picture wise. But look at the troubleshooting tips for the rich plug! "High float, sticky choke, worn points". Our cars have none of those things anymore.

To do a proper plug check ,you have to be driving the car
Rev it to 3 or 4 grand and kill the ignition with out locking the steering and put in the clutch all at the same time and then coast to a stop.
Then on the side of the road pull out your plugs and check them !
Yours dont look to bad other than the carbon build up from idling.
They have a nice tan colour under that carbon from what I can see.
Iwould be extremely worried if they were shiny white. (hot, lean condition )

You can order these strait from Zex themselves. I've ordered more than one set from them for various applications. They are owned by Comp Cams, just google Zex and they have a 800 number. Very simple process, and nice customer service.

06blackSC, What is your list of mods? I was thinking about getting some new plugs but I only have 12,000 miles on the car and a cold air intake. I was thinking of getting a smaller pulley maybe 3.1. Do these plugs come a step colder? If so do you guys think it would be ok to run a 3.0" on stock injectors.
