Choosing a new catback...opinions?
Choosing a new catback...opinions?
So, my muffler snapped off, now I need a new muffler at least. I'm looking at just getting the Megan catback, and I want to hear what you all think about this. Do you think this would be a solid purchase, or should I buy something else?
Back story:
So, I took my car in to change my brake pads, as well as check out this weird exhaust rattle I was having. Basically, when I would sit idling with my AC on, I'd get this weird rattling noise from my muffler. I figured it had something to do with the heat shield rattling against the pipe or something. Turns out, my catback wasn't attached to the exhaust hanger right by the muffler, and this is what happened.

I've owned and heard some loud ass LSJ exhausts, and I'm not really a fan. sure it's tough to get performance and sound to go hand in hand, however, after the past few weeks I did my own research and I decided to stick with the OEM cat-back (I'm replacing the over the axle 2.25" bend with CTI 2.5" OTA, and maybe the resonator later) and then weld in a dynomax super turbo muffler 2.5". I've read a lot of positive reviews on the dynomax ST so that's my recc.
My second time around im just gonna buy mandrelbentexhaust.com 3" catback and weld myself a new axel back section with a dynomax superturbo muffler, you can get a whole downpipe back off that site for 600 bucks shipped, not really sure about fitment, but ill make adjustments where needed
