clutch

whats a good clutch that will take some abuse but wont cost me a fortune. This is my second cobalt and it has a weak clutch just like my old one. i have a stage two on it and when i hit second at high rpms it wont grab at all. Boyh were previously owned by woman so i think thats why im having problems.

cheap and clutch dont go together to well...

Get a good clutch, do it right the first time, and save in the end. Gotta remember a clutch install is 6-8 hours, and if you have to do that two times it gets expensive.

You also need to grab a flywheel and new bolts. They recommend doing a new clutch pipe too.

This x100!!! I have it on my car and love it.

As far as the flywheel goes, I just bought a new one when I installed the new clutch. I got a good deal on a new OEM flywheel and the cost to resurface the stock one was $70 (plus tax) so for that price I spent the extra to have all brand new parts down there.

I see no reason why it wouldn't. It's rated for 300HP (idk why it's not TQ). It's essentially the same clutch that's on a stock ss/tc and I'm sure you've seen the stupid amounts of power they're putting down on it.

I haven't heard of any. And I haven't heard of any issues with the GMPP clutch either.

A few guys have had issues with lightweight clutches failing on our cars

GMPP is this one, which I currently have on my car and recommend if you're looking for a new clutch

I dont know why people consider our stock clutches "weak", they're not, you just have to know how to drive it, it is very susceptible to glazing from slipping it too much, otherwise I have seen people put down over 300 wheel and have no problems.
