I recommend Clutchmasters, only because of the multitude of people having problems with Spec clutches.

yeah i did a little searching and i don't think spec comes with everything to install and it seems it goes out more but stage 3 spec is less than stage 1 clutchmasters but hopefully for my intended use stage 1 CM will be fine

No problem. Yeah save up for stage 3. No one has had any problems with it yet. And i have only heard good things abotu clutchmasters.

I only know of me and one other guy going with the stage 4 clutch. Ill let everyone know how it works out.

What are the benefits of getting a stage 4 CM over a stage 3 CM. Im leaning toward the stage 4 cause i want the 6 puck.

it has to do with engagement of the clutch. stg 4 will be more harsh thatn stage 3. meaning more stiffer and requiring more gas to launch.

So would it be better to buy the stage 4 or stage 3?

How much more would stage 3 and/or 4 grip compared to the stock clutch? I know iwth the stock clutch you can ease into it quite a bit. Is this not possible with stage 3 and or 4 clutch? what about downshifts and stuff? is it like instant downshift or is there still play in it? I want something that holds better then stock but is still convient and easy to use for daily driving/traffic.

well.. the stage four is going to be much harsher, cuz now you have pucks.... think about it.

when those pucks engage, it is going to be rough and put instant power down. it seems the stage 3 would be considerably smoother

Clutchmasters Clutchs are excellent and recommended by me...

I have used a Stage 4 6 puck and a 4 puck on my 636hp SRT...

We in fact found a weakness which resulted in a mild failure in their design at that power
level, posted about it in CM's forum, and they answered the bell and have come out
with some new stuff.. They rock...

The engagement is instant but yet the stage 4 is very very drivable, on the SRT's
in nuetral they can be noisy, but this is a small complaint for the performance you get..

did the failure have anything to do with the flywheel or did u have an aftermarket fly wheel?

The SRT uses a modular design, and CM puts some dust cover thing that came off...

it made a loud bang......

Its not that bad, but it is present...

worth it IMO for the strength of clutch you get...

One thing I may add we have been a dealer for clutchmasters for many years and they are very good on warranties so I would definatly take them over a exedy clutch.

Same goes for spec their warranty is 120 days they are usually very good when things go wrong.

I'm using the Spec 3+, no complaints here. It's definitely a strong clutch! If you do go with a spec, just be sure to get a 2+ or 3+, for some reason they seem to be better than just a stage 2 or 3. Good luck with your purchase.
