cobalt in the 12.9's so cheap to do is it true?!!

ok been going through a bunch of posts and doing tons of research on the cobalt lately because i plan on trading in my pursuit (2.2l) and getting an 07 cobalt ss/sc. im not very car literate in the sense of knowing even close to as much as most guys in this forum but im really trying to learn as much as possible in the next month so i can know lots for my new 07 ss/sc. anyways is it true that wih...

stage 3 kit 2.6 pully (525.00)
corsa kat back (730)
cat delete (50.00) (does this mean to remove the cat completely?)
wheels (150.00 im guessing drag radials?)
qtp's (320.00 dont know what that is)
jbs bushings (99.00)
spec stage 2+clutch (560.00)
fidenza flywheel (320.00)

you can run 12.9's?? i mean assuming your a good driver and stuff, but is that literally all i need or is there alot of things missing? cause for a total of 2854.00usd thats not too bad at all. please dont flame me for lack of knowledge im just kinda new to the cobalt scene right now, but does anyone know if it can actually be done with this set up? if not please give details if you can. thanks

you would be better off getting the stage 5 with ported blower, i would recomend all the different ploy mounts for tranny and engine. Get a g85 package one.

Wheels and tires will be more than that, i would guess at least 350 for two wheels and two Dr's or slicks in 17" or possible 16" if you want to file down you front calipers. you will want to get slicks to achieve this time

Plus:
The upgraded heat exchanger
The HP tuner setup
A header
CAI

also with the mods i listed does that make for a reliable car or will it be in the shop every week, i mean generally speaking, like would it be a good daily driver at that point too?

I put a list of Options together and i plan on buying these in order, but i am wandering first if anyone has any clue or a educated guess on what you get a cobalt ss/sc to run with these mods and if you could give me better prices for certain items thanks i didn't put nitrious in there but seperatly could you give me an aprroximation of what this runs w/o spray and with spray? thanks

Ingalls "Stiffy" Engine Torque Damper-Cobalt SS 05-06 170$

INTENSE™ Supercharger Pulley Puller and Installation Tool 100$

INTENSE Stage 3 Performance Kit 530$
Note (We recommend the use of the stock air box setup as
aftermarket intakes are notorious for improper MAF
sensor placement and result in skewed air/fuel ratios
and can cause lean conditions.)

Lucas 42.5 pound/hour Fuel Injectors 160$

AeroForce Interceptor Scan Gauge (Cobalt SS Edition) 230$

SPEC Stage 3+ Clutch 620$

Dynomax Ultra Flo Welded Mufflers 40$

INTENSE™ Shorty Header 380$

AEM Strut Bar $146

AEM Intake 250$

I understand its hard to know, but with proper dyno adjustment and tuning what seems possible?

No, 2.6!!! It doesn't spin the hell out of the blower, and yeild pretty much identical HP results with a little less low end torque

In any combo in a SS that is capable of running 12's I would set aside $800 for HD axles . At that power level is a matter of when , not it , u break an axle .

since its an 07 you might not have all the mods out for it yet.... you might want to think about that

i have heard the 07's are set up a little differently than the 05's-06's so if you are going to get a 07 dont get too excited about getting all the mods too soon

Quick Reply: cobalt in the 12.9's so cheap to do is it true?!!
