Those sound like crank hp numbers. But still good nonetheless. I already have all kinds of mods on my car already and have some more coming in the mail. However, i'm willing to drive there to get my pcm tuned.

Oh, one more thing, could they install a clutch? And if so, how much would it run me?

Do you know what kind of software they are using to tune the pcm's.

They use hp tuners... I was gonna data log some runs this week.. but low and behold my clutch gave out on me so that'll have to wait... we have one car we might try friday night to play with inj duty % but from what we've seen they haven't been that high...

Yeah, thats what I thought.

Also, what #s are you going by when they say the hp gain...because 90hp gain means to me around 300+ because I really don't know many LSJs that aren't underrated. GM says 205 stock, which in reality is underrated and most are getting 210+ stock...

They are estimating hp gains. So I wouldn't really go by that number until someone gets on the dyno

Do they offer a machined snout or a tool to machine the snout with for the 2.5"? I know 2.6s will fit somewhat from ZZP without machining the snout...I hear you still have to file it a little...

Yeah, I wouldn't buy anything until I see some dyno proof. Even for some of the lower stages, I can't believe they don't have dyno proof yet.

I still don't think you guys are logging IDC correctly. IT makes no sense that multiple people across the nation log IDC's much greater than yours with the same setup.

Well most of the cars that are getting work from CA just recently blown up. I belive 3 of them that went to the track a couple days ago with 2 of them breaking axles and 1 blowign a trans. So that would explain the delay of the dyno #'s

So maybe Stage 5 or 6 should include axles and a tranny rebuild?

Thats part of the plan... (we're working on a guy for axles.. and he should have his clutch out soon). which I should have installed
speaking of IDC.. how do you log yours..
and our cars broke because of how sticky the track was and the amount of power they put out... we walked the track that night and it ripped our shoes off... all they way to the 1/8 mile,.,, there was a 8.50 index class that ran sunday cause the event was rained out thurs... so they prepped the **** outta the track... hey gotta pay to play guys... I was going for at least a high 12 sec pass and didn't even make it to the line. well I'm sending a spare tranny out to have the gears hardened and when its back together I shouldn't have any more problems (until the turbo kit is done)

I wish I could find a sticky track to run at. That would make my day to be able to launch.

And I have a config file for HPT I can send you. I have asked for yours a few times. I just would like to see the differences and why your results are so far off every other cobalt that logs.

I'll send you tonight... I don't have any of the new ones though... I should be at the shop friday though... sorry man ... just been doing so much work lately I forget about alot of things...
If you want to hit up a sticky track I hope you have an upgraded clutch and axles... or you will get owned by the traction...

I've been playing with the idea of switching to the 4.45 ratio that the cup car uses

the axles on these cars also suck...paul is right though it was due to the track conditions not anything CA did...also we usually dont do installs on the local guys cars, we do tune however ...all of the locals are pretty handy guys and know how to install and most do their own work or help one another out....but neither contributed to anyones cars breaking this weekend.

I want to make that perfectly clear.... there are no malfunctions with any of the parts that we provide, it merely was a shitty week at the track resulting in the breakdown of stock GM parts.

ok, so are you saying that a 2.7 and 42 pound injecters are 100 percent safe with the tunes you provide?

from what we've seen yes... but I wil retest this weekend with different settings from patathss... maybe that was the problem/// but I"ve only seen safe afr (12.4 or so) with that setup with no spikes so it should be cool...
and as Donna said... nothing I got from C/A broke... just my stock GM shitty parts, axle is weak as ****.. I could probably snap it by hand... and exploded clutch (still don't know how that happened) and it exited the top of my tranny soo... just waiting to see how extensive the damage was.

Dude, 1st gear sucks already for us. With a 4.45 ratio, we'd probably have a top speed of 20 mph even with a 7000 rev limit. It would definately suck to launch a cobalt with 4.45's however, it would liven up all the other gears.

Here's a cobalt ss with a 7000 rpm rev limiter

http://www.car-videos.net/tools/spee...B1=Recalculate

Here are the speeds for a 7000 rpm rev limit and 4.45 gears

http://www.car-videos.net/tools/spee...B1=Recalculate

I don't know if the above links worked, but on stock ratios and 7000 rev limit, it achieves 36.4 mph

With 4.45 gears and 7000 rev lmiit, 1st gear achieves 33.1 mph. That's low and will suck for launching. We just need to get a good tranny swap going.
