XTC from www.cobalt-addiction.com I use this one and no CEL and you can still cap your airbox off when it gets shitty out... plus its one of the only 3" ones out there.

I would like to see where GM recommends AEM. Why hasn't Gm come out with their own intake so we can buy it and keep warranty.

The Cobalt SC already comes with a CAI so I would keep as is since you dont want to remove the airbox for winter purposes. Its up to you really, I would suggest aem filter is the best for the money.

The only issue I have is all the crap i picked up last winter inside my intake with the stock one. I could only imagine the gunk I would get if I didnt have to box on.

i looked at my filter the other day by simply taking off the headlight, it looks exactly the same as it did as the day it was put, the way my intake sits as appose to the rest makes me feel a lil better about winter driving cuz its not down by the bumper.

i would just to get it outta they way, i havnt had that cell in months, and today it showed its ugly head again, it wouldnt hurt to bump it up just so you dont have to deal with it IF it ever pops up.
note, mine only seems to do this when the temp is cooler...

Cooler air = more dense air (at a constant pressure) = more O2 As it got cooler it probably hit he max level of air flow thbe MAF could handle.
