cold air intake

anybody running a cold air intake during the winter. And if so do you guys have any problem with the exposid air filter. This is met for the guys in michigan. I just woundering if the snow, rain and all that good stuff gets on the filter. I plain on leaving the wheel housing in. Maybe putting an outerwear over the air fillter to keep out the water, just woundering if anybody is doing this or are you guys putting the stock air box back on?
