cx racing heat exchanger

so i'm doing a build on my 2.2 and have a small problem... i don't want to use the original plastic drain plug for my cx racing heat exchanger, i want a metal one... that being said, does ANYONE know what size bolt it is to put into the bottom drain plug for it?

No idea. Mine is all busted up already from bottoming it out. It wont get any worse though since I now have some protection on it. If I do somehow kill it, I'll end up throwing a thread gauge on it and making my own plug.

1/4npt is quite large. 1/8npt is about 1/2inch.

NPT = National Pipe Taper/Thread

I noticed that the "size" isnt really correct. Havn't figured out their sizeing system. IE: 1/4" isn't 1/4" if you measure it with a ruler.

Anyways NPT has a taper to it, the diamater gets wider the farther in you go. This means itll go in a couple threads and then get tighter and tighter the more you turn it. Use some thread sealant or teflon tape to sea it, as NPT does not create a seal.

Also MIP or FIP seems to work. I have the OTTP HE and it's plug 1/4" NPT.
I got mine at Home Depot or Lowes, I think it was Home Depot
