cylinder sleeve pressin in car?

can the cylinder sleeve be pulled out and pressed in while the block is still in the car? i realy dont want to pull the whole motor out of my car!

Yes. There is a special GM tool specifically for that job. There is a picture of it floating around here somewhere. It's actually kind of interesting. Probably quite expensive too.

and i believe it is around $1000

Actually while were on this topic does:

1) anyone know what the stock sleeves are rated for

2) know what stock rods are rated for

3) know what stock crankshaft is good for

looks like i need to call my buddy thats a manager in the service dept at the stealership time to barrow some tools i was told about the tool it puts a groove in the sleeve then grabs it and pulls it out, i just didnt know if you could do it while the block was still in the car.

dealerships are dumb... im trying to explain what i want done and they are scratching thier heads the new sleve is 160 bucks though

my buddy called me back, he ordered the sleeve for me, and is bringing the tool to the garage as soon as the sleeve comes in so labor cost = a case of beer
