Today after work I picked up the DD engine and it is now ready to drop into the car.
The shop who did this fully built engine, using all of the components of the 'planned' race engine for the project, is the latest shop that I have entrusted with the task of completing my project car. While all of the previous shops have let me down, one way or another, this shop will soon have the opportunity to prove themselves.
The engine will be started on Saturday and I will start the process of breaking in the engine and I will waste no time logging 500 miles just to see if this engine holds because if it doesn't the project comes to a screeching halt.
Speaking of my project, I will be releasing some very big news come the end of next week. Right now all seems to be going very well even though we have made a few 'alterations' to the plan. Good alterations.

After a few *issues* with the DD engine it is up and running.
The first issue we came up with was a high pitch scream or whistle. I first tried the belts and the noise was still there so I replaced both the meth plate and S/C gasket to make sure there wasn't an air leak. That relsoved that issue.
I started the car and was thinking of going for a drive so I looked underneath for leaks. With the amount of hoses down there for all of the cooling mods, a coolant leak wouldn't be out of the ordinary. Then again, my_bd and I have done this so often that there was no coolant leaking anywhere. Sadly the huge puddle of oil under the car caused some great concern and I shut down the engine and calle it a night.
The next morning I was down to ther shop to bitch about the issue. The shop owner tried to put me off for 3 days before looking at the car and you can imagine how I felt about this. The cool thing is that not only did I get to deal with him in person I got to do it directly in front of my project. Needless to say, I was being nice or bending over because I told no running DD, no project in his shop. My putting up with BS has ended.
The diagnosis for the engine was the Parabolic sealant failed and the oil was able to **** out of the side of the engine over the intercooler pump/starter. They took the car back to the shop and fixed it. I picked it up on Friday and took it for a spin. The first thing I noticed was a CEL and I had already guessed that it was the HEX key in the wrong place on the exhaust cam. They attempted to fix it, got the car to stop running and once they changed the hex around again, it ran but still with the code and then I took the car home as it is the long weekend.
my_bd and I started tuning yesterday and we also got the CEL taken care of. We have 270 miles logged so far, all with next to no boost. Another 230 miles today and then we start tuning for boost.
So far everything sounds, feels and looks good. Hopefully it stays this way as I have sold my Silverado and I need to deliver it today.

Thanks everyone.
So I got out and drove until the 500 miles was met.
I did this at different speeds and under different load conditions and I never got on it before 500 miles.
Well the car now has 650+ miles on the motor and my_bd and I got out to do some serious WOT pulls yesterday. I really enjoyed them and considering that the tune is a 'safe' tune at this moment, this thing is going to be a monster.
The head is flowing mass quantities of air and at 6600 rpms we are already off the charts on a few areas with HPT.
I think the most boost we saw was about 19lbs of boost but with this head we expected to be a bit lower. Then again I have 2 smaller pullies to get around to yet.
As far as the DD I have basically all mods available for our cars except for a turbo kit.

Ok so here is a little up date on the DD.
It is still running after 1,000 miles (1,600 kms) and so far there are no issues.
my_bd and I were out tuning again this past weekend and we were able to get it dialed in a bit more. I have even had it chirp a couple of time going into 3rd.
We still need to work on the VE tables as well as turn on the meth (waiting on nozzles) and pulley down. This sunday we are going to get out and tune some more.

This weekend I hope to turn on the meth and pulley down.
OTTP was never part of the project other than the parts I buy from them.
The Powell part didn't work out.
