Devil own Satge 2 meth kit?

i am very close to ordering the stage 2 devils own water/meth injection kit. A buddy of mine has been trying to get me to buy one for a while now ... but i just wanna know a little bit more about the performance benifets to the kit ... the site seems very vague and doesnt tell me thing like numbers, if i need to tune, **** like that. i dont wanna spend 400 bucks and not have any power gain .. or have to wait till i can save another 250 for a tune ....

any one have one that can share how they help u performance wise

I have the Devils Own DVC-30 kit. You will need a tune to see any gains, I am running like 25* of timing now where as without it I think 17 was the most I could get and IAT's stay lower during pulls. It's hard to say what I gained because I also went from a 2.8 pulley to a 2.7 but with both I gained about 18whp.

I will advise you to do some more research. Not to be mean but it really sounds like you don't understand the full benefits of meth. The devils own kit is great and I have it. However, meth itself does not give you power. It decreases your air intake temperatures as well as changes the octane slightly. This in turns helps suppress detination as well as allowing you to tune more aggressively to get the power gains. Also it reduces the heat soaking that also robs power.

Meth does not cool. Adding water to the mixture cools.

18whp for $400 is a damn good deal! Also someone doesn't just "hook a computer to your car for 10 minuites" for a tune. There's a lot more to it.

Basically explained what I summed up. If you do anything to the car you will need a tune to see maximum gains. I was happy with 18whp with the $400+ for meth and $50 or so for the new pulley. I think you might be expecting ricer size gains like 35hp from an intake....just not going to happen. It takes a lot to see big gains from any vehicle. I am probably $2-$3000 into my car with mods and I am about 75whp over stock. Yes I could have pretyty much gone turbo but it is what it is. Get the meth, get a tune and work from there. All the things it will do for future mods will make you happy in the end.

Stage 2 will get you more power overall but you will also need supporting mods to run it safe. That is how I started with a basic stage 2 from OTTP- 2.8, 60's, belt, plugs and heat exchanger. Then I ended up getting a dual pass, a/f gauge, option b, header, downpipe, zzp intake and thats where the dollars started racking up. I know that wont help much in your decision but it lets you know what is to come once you start modding.

are you positive about that? I'm running 100%meth and it deff cools things. Also if you put you finger in meth and pull it out you will deff notice a cooling effect.

It doesn't lower intake temps is what I meant.

With an intake, header and exhaust you should be pretty good to start with the stage 2 then, ZZP reccomends atleast a header with the stage 2 kit, the rest I mentioned helps with keeping everything cool and meth will help with that alot as well. One thing that helps a lot and is greatly overlooked is a phenolic spacer from ZZP. It's $99 and really elps with heat transfer from the head to the intake manifold. Did you also do a downpipe?

Check out the link from my build. Pretty much shows my car from stock to what it is now and it might help with any questions or might bring up other questions you might not think about at first. https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/2-0l...nstall-242186/

Go with ZZPs stage 2 kit. They will have it shipped out to you the day you order it. I think their canned tune is better also. I had ottps stage 2 and their tune was suuuuuuper rich.

I went with OTTP because the h/e was bigger and I didn't get a tune from them, I went to BYT 2 weeks after so I can't give input on that. As far as the rev limiter just leave it stock, if you over rev or set it too high you will mess a lot of stuff up. I think stock is 7100 but i'm not 100% on that.
