Did I end up getting the wrong fuel filter?

I went to the Chevy dealer today to pick up a new fuel filter. I told the parts guy what it was for and the part number for the filter, GF824. He went to the back and brought one out, so I took it out of the box and checked it out. The fuel filter itself had #15233471 printed on it, while the GF824 box also has the number 22734980 listed on it. I showed the guy working parts the difference in part numbers between the filter itslef and the box and he thought it somehow got mixed up from AC also, so he took it back to grab another one, since he had a couple others in stock. He brought the others out, and all of them had the same 15233471 number as the first did. I just went ahead and bought one thinking that maybe AC Delco had a part number change.

After looking into this some everything still shows that this is the correct fuel filter for the LSJ, which is the same that I asked for.

GF824
22734980

The fuel filter I have, which has item number 15233471, shows up being listed as a fuel filter for the 2.2 and 2.4s. WTF

Do any of you parts guy know if AC Delco has just consolidated to this filter for all of the delta Ecotec applications since this same filter was in 3 different GF824 boxes? I have held off on installing this for now until I can get a better clue on this. Has anyone else noticed this when purchasing a new fuel filter lately? Anyone know what the difference is between the two? Obviously something is different otherwise why was there two different numbers to begin with

I tried looking at the original filter, but I can't make out the print on it.

Right here on CEDs site, it shows the filters that are used on the 2.0, 2.2, and 2.4
http://www.crateenginedepot.com/stor...ucts-C193.aspx

From what it shows here, and with the Item #15233471 I have, this is saying it's a 2.2 and 2.4 filter. Not the Item #22734980 like it should be. The dealer has filters for the 2.2 and 2.4 and they have the #15233471 on them, same as what is listed for them,

Does anyone here work in GM parts and knows if the 2.2 and 2.4 filter is used on the 2.0 engines now?
