Diffrence from 2.9 to 2.8

Hey guys,

To start of I'm on stage 2 injectors (42.5lb) and yes I've read all about the IDC use and everything. The IAT2 temp debate and everything involving smaller pulleys on 42.5lb injectors.

I have an aeroforce to monitor the IAT2 temps.
I'll soon have a wideband sensor to hook up to said aeroforce.
And as I don't race all the time the injectors will be fine excedpt when I go WOT at the track or back roads once in a blue moon. And since stage 2 runs rich leaning out the a/f ratio by capping injectors at 100% should be fine.

So the question is how much extra boost and power should I see by going from a 2.9 Nates to a 2.8 Nates?

Well seeing as you are lucky enough to live in Florida and are pretty much at sea level I would think +/- 19 psi. Here in Calgary we are at 3500' SL and I see +/1 16 psi @ WOT. You probably wont see much in the way of HP gains but your low end TQ will be improved. I have a 2.85" pulley and my TQ is incredable so much so I adjusted my TQ management to compensate in 1st and second gears.

Oh...My IDC @ WOT @ 7000 rpm @ 16 ms IPW = +/- 90 %
cheers

I keep hearing all sides of the IDC debate. Ran into some Cobalt guys at the track who ran 2.7 pulleys on 42.5lb injectors laughing saying they've run it for a good year and a half with no issues. And they made multiple passes down the track consecutively.
I figured a 2.85 or a 2.8 would be fine because I can monitor it. I'll still have the 2.9 and stage 2 pulley in case it gets bad.

Right now with the 2.9 I see 16 to 17 pounds at the the 5300 to 7000rpm range and 15lbs instant on the gas.

So an extra 2 pounds maybe?
I remember some one saying for every pound of boost on our cars equals an extra 7hp so 14 hp?

You said that is what you were at?
What reason did you change?
