i remember something about a bad intake manifold gasket causing the crankcase to pressurize. cant remember if there is a bulletin on it or not. however before doing anything there id do a compression test, or better yet, a leak down test. make sure its not something more serious.

Thanks in advance.
usually means your rings are going.. same thing happened to me 2 weeks ago.. do a compression check and a cylinder leak down test you can buy the whole kit at harbor freight. I just pulled my engine apart last night and found out that I broke the ring land on piston 4 and 1. What are your mods.

If your running high boost it happens if you dont have a proper working pressure control system. I doubt it's your rings. Your dipstick tube o ring could be bad. Like said your intake manifold gasket. I used a clamp and a spring to hold mine down on the Dsm. when you run a lot of boost though you usually need to use a spring to hold it down.

with these engines 90% of the time of the dipstick is popping its a busted ringland my engine passed a comp test and a leak down test

im running 20+ and its something that just doesent happen on these engines unless its a major mechanical problem cracked rings or broken piston and on a super rare occasion a bad check valve in the intake manifold not being a dick but you need to read and learn more about the ecotecs they arent a dsm

How much air flow are you seeing. 20+ psi on a tiny blower is different than a big turbo or something that actually flows a lot of air. I was seeing over 50 lbs/min. The car I have now did it until I switched intake manifolds and put a new gasket in there. If he has a broken piston or cracked ring the loss in compression would be apparent. That's not going to go unnoticed. He didn't say his car runs like ****. He said his dip stick is popping out..... Also he didn't say it was smoking.

well for one when i popped a ringland the engine did past]s a compression and a leakdown test and dident smoke out the exhaust and it didedent run like **** it just constantly blew the dipstick out and oil all over the place when we pulled the slugs we found 1 broken comp ring and a broken ringland on #3 piston as for airflow i am seeing right at 48lb a min more then not when these things start popping dipsticks its a ringland

Well good to know. Good thing I put diamond pistons in. Even if it needs new pistons or rings pull the head and drop the oil pan. All you'll need Is a head gasket rod bearings and rod bolts. Not a hard job to do. If there isn't damage to the sleeves it will be good to go. That's crazy you couldn't find anything with a compression test and leak down test. I didn't know that could happen. I was just giving other suggestions that I have seen cause this issue. My bad.

You guys are going to have to stop being doom and gloom on these things now that the cars are getting older clogged "lifetime" pcv valves and bad intake manifolds are going to start being the main cause of these things rather than just people sucking at tuning.
