Dipstick Still Popping Out
Dipstick Still Popping Out
Well 2 years later I'm still having the same issue. Dipstick pops out randomly and sprays oil everywhere. Ive had 2 new instake manifold gaskets installed, both did nothing, had a new intake manifold installed did nothing, new supercharger wastegate... still nothing. Now I just received a brand new engine from GM and it STILL DOES IT... any thoughts?

Its 1 of three things.....clogged pcv hose, engine has the old style intake manifold gasket, or has bad rings, and/or cracked or broken pistons.
High crankcase pressure is whats causing the dipstick to blow.
look on the bottom of your oil cap, does it have milky white oily residue?
Mine did the exact same thing, ended up having cracked piston #4, also collapsed the rings on that piston and also the rings on piston #1.
But in my case it was blowing the dipstick out everytime i would be on the gas hard!
Could the replacement engine have the older style intake manifold gasket instead of the new one?

Its a brand new engine, still has the sticker on it so its nothing internal, Im assuming they used the intake manifold on the old motor on this one, but the old motor just had a brand new intake manifold installed. Maybe the tube? anyone have a picture of this said pcv hose?
Im sure they installted the correct gasket, if not who knows.

Mine popped the dipstick out as well, but my rings in #4 were grenaded. Check your plugs, look on the bottom for oil. You can try getting an Oil Breather Cap.. That'll stop that dipstick from popping.
pcv hose is the hose that comes from the valve cover, on the passenger side and goes to the intake tube.
hope that helps
I tryed that as well, never helped...if its only occasionally I wouldnt worry to much, however if it happend frequently than have it looked at again

Doesn't really make sense that a new motor is doing this as the guys that have had issue had piston problems and were running very very small pulleys..
Like quik said its High Crankcase Pressure that is the culprit!

Ya but from where... lol, Ill have to pull off the PVC hose and blow thorugh it to see if i can feel anything.
ha we'll see how good I am when i get off of work at 5
on a lighter note, the car drives and feels brand new. Even the clutch feels new, im not sure if they just replaced everything or not.

my engine did this bone stock as well. Put a breather on it and delete the hose to the intake, should be good to go.
