I went to an outside event last night and had my car dyno'd. I have 60lb injectors, 2.8 pulley, K&N cold air, Corsa cat back, NGK iridium plugs, ECM tune. My best dyno run was 206.9WHP. Is this about what others get? I was expecting to get more like 240+ Is there something wrong with this guys dyno? any feed back would be appreciated.

Yeah thats really low. Some dynos will read low but not that bad. Could be a crappy tune, extreme heat soak, etc.. Id say the average would be 240ish IMO, so you got something that aint right.

Anyone else say something was off with the numbers.

Post the dyno chart.

Sometimes those mobile dynos read really funny, i'd suggest you don't get too worried about it, start checking small stuff, but if the car feels normal, consider having it done again somewhere else before you get too worried.

This

I had OTTP STG 2 , vibrant hdr/dp, zzp intake, magnaflow catback, ZZP stage 3 heat exchanger, etc.

I drove 2hrs to a dyno and it put down 211whp, and I wouldn't even get tuned for nitrous because the PCM was corrupt. I late found out my IC pump wasn't working and my plugs needed replacing. Not saying that bumped it up to 250-60whp but it made a diff.

206 is horrible... ive seen dyno sheets of cars with just a intake do 210-214... u should be at least 240. check you ic pump, def need to do cooling mods if u havent already, heat soak will be the cause of major power loss

last night should have been particularly cool in your area not hot at all, but I would say it's the tune. what kind do you have? I mean your iat could have been running hot, but shouldn't have made that huge of a difference.. maybe a combination of a low reading dyno with a crappy tune?

Who tuned you? or is like a canned tune? And to be at a 2.8 and 60's you should have a full exhaust and some cooling mods

I bought the car this way, not sure who tuned it, and the guy did'nt say anything about a HE upgrade. The car was bought from a toyota lot. They didnt know it was even mod'd, so they couldnt tell me anything about it. I did get to talk to the original owner after finding his name in the owners manual, he said he last dyno'd at 270. They guy who done the Dyno last night said it did have bigger injectors, the pulley says 2.8 intense, and it def has the corsa cat and K&N. I pulled the plugs and they are def NGK Iridiums, so his whole story matches except im not getting the numbers he did.

I ran the 1/4 last night and got a 14.8 @101 and that was with my clutch not fully gripping from 1st-2nd. If i get on it too hard in 1st, my clutch spins in 2nd as if theres too much HP behind it, but if my dyno reads 206 then there shouldnt be any reason for it to slip.

See if your coolant is cycling through the filler neck. I am pretty sure it is gonna be the IC Pump. I dyno'd at 197 whp when mine took a crap on me. I replaced it and dyno'd at 245 whp. And I pretty much have the same mods.

I got the numbers in my sig with the mods listed. It was also a 90+ degree day and it made 240 whp on all three dyno runs, all made 15-20 minutes apart, so no cool down between runs. On a cooler day with a cooled engine, it would probably make quite a bit more. I'd say you're IAT temps are through the roof, or either you're tune is having issues. Check your IC pump by looking down into the filler neck. If you don't see fluid flowing by, your pump has quit. Tap on it with a hammer and see if it starts back up, then get another IC pump. Might want to post up your dyno sheet and let some of these guys have a look at it.

the guy told me it was not a dyno jet, and a dyno jet should be about 20% higher, so that puts me into the 240+ range. I would post my dyno sheet, but it wont let me post pics for some reason. should the coolant be moving thru the neck at all times? and is it easy to tell its moving? i looked and it was hard to tell or it wasnt moving at all. where is the ic pump located? I dyno'd at night in about 70deg weather and the guy doing the test said it wasnt running hot.

I am having the same issue. Last dyno I was sat 221hp with a intake and exhaust. Installed a 2.8, 60's, and a h/e and I just got back from the dyno sand only put down 212hp. WTF! My h/e pump is working but might have had some air bubbles. Plugs were set at .32 when I put them in 3 months ago. I gained 36 hp until 4500 rpm, then it just drops off. Any ideas?

pop hood, unscrew the lid to the filler neck which is front of the m62 kinda by the hood release, have a friend turn the car on, wait for the fluid in the filler neck to rise a lot or jump out at you lol, if the coolant doesnt move the pump is dead.....
