Done a lot of reading, still need a solid answer for stage 2 upgrade

I just bought the stage 1 kit online, got a good deal on ebay. So basically its just the GM 42lb injectors, which is what I want so I can have GM flash the car and not have to worry about getting a custom HP tune.

I also want to go with a smaller pulley, but don't really want to spend the extra cash on the GM stage2 upgrade, when it seems like I can get the same thing from ZZP for a lot less. I will keep the stock pulley, so if I ever need to go in for warranty work, I can just switch back to the stock one.

Getting to the point, my question is this. From what I've read, it seems like the 2.9" modular pulley from ZZP is a good one to go with for guys with the stage 1. I also plan on buying the ZZP pulley puller tool and the GM stage 2 belt.

Will that be all I need then? ZZP Modular 2.9" pulley, ZZP Pulley puller tool and GM stage 2 belt?

Any other advice on something better to go with, or any advice at all would be great.

Thanks

are the stage 1 and 2 tunes from GM the same? I think if they arent and u walk in there (GM Dealer) wanting injectors and a stage 2 tune they might think somethings up.

they are the same tune. this is exactly what i'm gonna do next week. its cheaper and you get the same thing. except i might go for the gm stage 3 belt and the dual pass and be done.

Yeah, from what I"ve read, the tunes are the same. I have the authorization code that came with the injectors for the flash update for GM....it sounds like this is the way to go. Thanks for the tips.

There is no stage 3 belt. GM stage 3 uses the stage 2 belt, with a smaller pulley. But let me know how the dual pass helps. There seems to be a lack of information on the GM dual pass (and all of stage 3 as well)

I am running with a 2.9 Intense pulley and GM stage 1 w/oversized tensioner... Works pretty good till you want more!!!! And eventually you will want more!

The only thing flawed in your plan is putting the stock pulley back on. The stock pulley is pressed on and usually gets bent upon removal. The other pulleys are bolted on.

Yea no prob, my birthday is coming up soon too. I'm hoping to get the GM SS lower grill and Intense transaxle mounts. Then maybe gm stage 3 as a college graduation present.

Hmmm, that I didn't know.

Does anyone make a pulley that looks just like GMs?
