Downpipe Gains

What gains can be expected from a downpipe upgrade? Recommendations?

ZZP seems to be a good combo.

getting rid or putting a highflow cat will give you gains for sure. I can attest to that

why not go for 3" pipping that will give you more space and get you a little bit better flow of your exhuast, giving you a better gain along with whatever else you put on it, like a DP or cat back... unless you already have 3" pipping

so all you have to do is go to your local muffler store and order 3" pipping and ask them if they can connect it to your muffler tip and to whatever your going to put on it like the DP or cat back, it shouldn't be that hard for them and it should only run you about a hundred bucks maybe

Ya its raspy but it all depends on the exhaust you put after it too. My 3'' catless dp and cti 3" has bearly no rasp to it only when its cold it has alittle.

I ordered the MEGAN RACING CATBACK. Said it a few times actually. Another exhaust is out of the question. I may go with the ZZP downpipe. Seems like a quality piece.

From the research I did a while back, I heard that our downpipes were not severely restrictive in comparison to other cars. And it also took like 10 posts before any numbers came up as an issue in this thread haha. Personally I wouldn't expect to see much more than 3-6whp from a dp. Not a whole lot of solid dyno numbers as most people don't go back for just a dp upgrade ya know?

Also good choice on the 2.5" exhaust. It suits us fine unless you intend on pushing more than 250-260whp

Don't go ZZP. Sure they're the best bang for your buck but you get what you paid for. They are known to break.

I've read at least three or four in the past week alone asking if it was a common problem. I can't locate the threads right now, but they're out there.

The downpipe broke or the bolts securing the downpipe broke? The shitty bolts are a common thing. Just need to upgrade to grade 8.
