Lightbulb Drilling Out Muffler?

Ok, so Ive had my car for two weeks and love it. anyway, my dad is a muscle car guy and is suggesting that I drill out the muffler using a long quarter inch bit. Im not sure about this idea so I thought id ask. have any of you done this or know what effect it would have on performance and sound. Im iffy on the idea because I like the way it sounds stock and would rather buy a whole system than drill modify stock one. Just curious. thanx

It makes it loud as hell. My buddy had an older v8 ford pickup with a drilled muffler I swear I could hear him from about 4 blocks over.

dont you'll regret it. Thats just for people who are to cheap to buy an exhaust.
you should buy an exhaust system and you'll be much happier with it.

If you like the stock sound, but want power gains look at the Corsa Touring exhaust. Expensive, but sounds almost stock.

you will not gain any performance from drilling holes in your muffler. you will just gain the most annoying sound. i'd suggest you don't listen to your father on that matter and just get an exhaust system for performance and sound.

The plain truth is probably no one here has done it. If you got the money to buy an exhaust system it might be worth it (drilling the muffler) to give it a shot and report back. If it's that bad just get an exhaust system.

If your doing it cause you don't have the cash for an exhaust I would say it's not a risk worth taking.
