Driver mod stg 3?? Factory Freak???(pics)

ok, I got bored today, and went out on the empty country roads, and was doing some runs w/ my interceptor gauge. Here are some pics w/ my phone of my results.

How can I run that w/ just a CAI? My SS does not have a LSD either. I know that when it comes to the track its probably going to be a little slower and all, but I am curious as to how accurate is the interceptor gauge? Is it that I have a factory freak? Or am I just a hella good driver (driver mod stg 3)?

Any answers or opinions?

EDIT: The red light at the top of the gauge is the shift light, it stays on for a few seconds to alert you that the 1/4 mile is over.

thats what I thought, but my buddy had one on his Integra and he used it when he was at the track and it was around .05-.1 seconds off. Even though its not an interceptor, but it was similar to one.

The reason its off is it factors 0 wheelspin.

if you want proof of how inaccurate that is just look at the difference in 1/4 times to your 1/8 times. you dropped 7 TENTHS in the 1/8 with a higher trap and only knocked off 2 in the quarter with a higher trap...

The 1/8th mile readings look to be closer than the quarter... I ran 9.5-ish at the local 1/8th track on stock boost.

hard to say because it probably varies with every pass, hence why its inconsistent

I am wondering if it uses non driven wheel speed to do the calculation?

If so that not be a factor.

It uses the same thing the speedo uses, the VSS.

I was mainly out to practice...I got a pretty big race on thursday, that I'd hate to lose for missing a gear or something. Just trying to get the shifts down, and figured I'd play with the interceptor gauge while I'm there.

Those are actually very accurate. If you get 0 wheelspin then it should be around .1-.3 tenths of what you would run at the track however the trap speed is what I would be focused on and that goes on between 1-3mph too.

Wheelspin isn't going to make much of a different. 4-5 rotations of the wheel doesn't equal much distance. The best way to test these gauges out is to take the car to the track and compare the times.

i'd say its a little off. looking at my best run with just a cold air by 1/8th was 9.356 and my 1/4 was 14.22. trap is fairly close at 101.
