Duel Pass End Plate or CA Heat Exchanger????

Which will give the best performance results? I run Stage 2 with 2.8" and a AEM Intake? I love the look of the CA Heat Exchanger but is it worth the extra money over the GM Dual Pass endplate. I could really use the suggestions.

Thanks Guys

The HE looks really good, and gives good results, However The Dual pass will give you better cooling.

they both do help a lot...
I've had the h/e ... dual pass... and meth at one point or another.
I'll see if I have any logs on my home computer showing the differences....

If I were to get one which would provide the better cooling and lower IAT's? I cant afford both mods, just looking for the best of the two?

Thanks

I would think the dual pass would actually cool more, the H/E just helps resist heat soak and buildup over time better.

yeah the dual pass is definatly the best... but it's also the hardest to install.. so if you don't have the skills to pull you intake manifold off and everything else in the way,.,, I"d go with the H/E.... but if your having someone else do it.. go for the dual pass

I need to go ahead and do both of these mods. What do you guys reccommend, a H/E like the C/A one or the group buy, or the cobra H/E???

well I had the C/A one and it was fine.... easy to install ... showed good gains.. and it has a larger capacity than the cobra one... and comes with everything needed to install...
(I was the test car for that too, and the dual pass).

Yeah, but two problems there

1. Its like 5 times as expensive as a cobra
2. You sir are biased. Badly

I like the look of the C/A one, I was considering buying it before I had a little argument with them over my downpipe. Now, I am ready for cooling mods, and have to make the decision. I will probably use the factory dual-pass plate, but I am undecided on the H/E. I also want to run the dual-resivior setup as long as I'm gonna do it.

I really like the look of the CA one right now but its just not in my budget.... i just got a cobra h/e and mounting brackets for it from bwoody for $140.00 shipped. Cant beat that.

not really man... I recommend things that work, and that I would personally use.. I did pay for materials on that one.. wasn't a free bee... I paid for most parts I got from them..
sorry if I sound like a broken record... but hey.. if it works.. it works

I know bro, you have done a lot for the community, and I respect you. But I have never seen you reccommend anything if there is another choice made by C/A. Nothing wrong with that, just a joke. I didn't like the way they responded to me when I bought my donwpipe. Now, I don't have $500 to drop on a H/E and still ba able to do the other mods. I don't feel like taking the front of the car apart twice.

I hear ya man. Well I have dealt with ZZP (they were awesome), I"d recommend intense for parts too (great correspondance) and a few other places I"ve had dealings with. I use C/A alot since they are close and never given me grief (and I hate waiting for things to ship.. lol).

oh yeah Zinner... that 15mm in the back that bolts through that bracket and the intake was the worst. I ended up removing my A/C condensor to do it. But at the time I had the whole front off the car so it wasn't too bad (bumper, Radiator, H/E etc). fun times

I just did the dualpass intercooler plate. It was super easy to get off. The hard part is routing the hose cutting it and all that stuff. I Also dont like how the bottle is. I have it sorta clean looking but its not to my likeing.

somewhere on this website blown 4 banger said that if you were gonna do one do the dual pass intercooler

sorry to completely hijack this thread but if i were to need to put in coolant , i would put it in the canister that is directly above the intake right , the part that looks like a light red , is that right

Ya It would be nice to see a dyno showing the difference with the dual pass vs not. Since putting on the 2.8" pulley I am building more heat from the supercharger and with summer coming up I want the full benefit, so I dont have to worry about heat soak when racing some of my buddy's. Does anyone have any graphs showing the difference? Is there any noticable gains from this mod?
