So today driving to work I noticed a faint rattle type noise coming from my front drivers side of my car. When I get to work I checked the car over and all seemed ok. Untill I thought to my self. I wonder If my air filter fell off and is bouncing around in my inner wheel well. Guess what, sure enough that is what happened. After 2 and a half years the stupid filter just fell off. And I know it was on just last week when I replaced my head light. And to top it off, it was -15 outside when I took it apart to but the filter back on.

 

What made you think that your air filter fell off an was bumpin around??

have you ever cleaned it in the 2 1/2 years you've had it on there?

 

Idk if its the filter to blame, Sounds like a loose clamp, and you should not wait 2 years to do airfilter maintenance, It could of been avoided.

 

I hae had it off once each year to clean it. But this is the first time in the 2 and a half years sense I bought the filter that it just fell off. I cleaned it last in June. So it's been on for like 7 or 8 months and then just decided to fall off. I'm not sure what made me think to even look to see if the air filter had fallen off. I guess the noise just sounded like it was coming from inside the wheel well. And I thought off the air filter. Sure enough thats what it was......

At least its winter and -15 outside and everything is frozen so I know I didn't suck up a bunch of road dust and such. I am pretty sure it just fell off on Friday morning on my way to work.
