Dyno Numbers

Just dynoed in 4th gear....
tuned by DOC and mods in VBGarage...

18lb's of boost

247HP 238TQ

numbers in sig are intense tune, no intake and 3rd gear.

last pull we went a lil more agressive on the tune and blew the dipstick out and oil went everywhere. We backed it back down to the tune we had at 247/238 and shes running good.

later,
ryan

so you only gained 3whp and 5wtq. depends on how much he charged you I dont see that worth it. I bet your powerband is better though.

my original tune was in 3rd gear as well this was 4th.... bigger gear = lower numbers than 3rd gear pull.

and yes the A/F isnt everywhere like the intense tune.

im sure once i get my header and DP (catless) installed we will be able to make the tune more aggressive and get some good numbers.

in 3rd gear you would have probably broke the 250whp.

Aren't those numbers kinda low for a 2.7" pulley? Not offence, just wondering.

Those are actually realistic numbers. Those who put down like 270whp on 2.7" probably had an inflated dyno.
2.8 should be around 240whp
2.7 should be around 250whp thats considering they have intake and exhaust, thats what ive seen being repeated in most cars here.

The problem is, every car will post up different numbers. Different altitudes, temps, locations. Even with the same mods, the numbers could be different. Hell, I posted up 230whp and 217wtq on a Mustang Dyno not the InflataJet(DynoJet Dyno..lol) With GM Stg2, 2.79" pulley, Injen CAI and One-step colder plugs. She not even tuned yet, nor have I done any exhaust work. That equates to about 250whp and 230wtq on a DynoJet.

One persons numbers may come out low at their specific location, but once they do the same pulls at a lower elevation the numbers could be a lil higher. Just a lil insight for everyone. Sorry if any of this comes out dickish(word of the day. lol) I've been up since 5pm yesterday.

at 18psi i had to assume this was a mild tune... would be nice to compare 3rd gear pulls though. any chance of that happening?

I got aggressive with the pull that resulted in oil spewing from the dipstick. The dyno operator let off as soon as he saw the spray...I was busy looking at the computer screen, which got oil all over it . Anyway, he was pushing 19.1 psi when the dyno operator let off which is high for a 2.7" pulley. It was fun and I am sure there is at least 15-20whp in there I had to let go.

On another note, I got 262.9hp and 261.01ft/lbs. I didn't get as aggressive as I did with CobaltBurst's tune. I did hear a little belt slip when it got above 6500. Its all good though.

2.5...it went from 18psi to 14 psi in a second and hovered there before he hit 7k

i talked to the owner at pro-motion hes interested in getting some balts in to dyno. he said if we get 10 cars, 50 bucks each will get us 3 pulls.

im up for some more once i get my DP and header.

yea i believe these are great numbers for the pulley.... the numbers 260-270 from which intense advertised are just not correct regardless of climate/elevation changes.

for once someone agrees that these are good numbers (ljavy) on this setup.

i was boosting 19.1 PSI at one point so DOC and I think my cat has taken a **** as well increasing manifold pressure blowing the dipstick. also i just checked my oil AGAIN and it is OVER the max line this is after spewing at least a quart into the dyno shop and my engine bay. im calling the dealership that did my oil change.

i think them over filling the oiled helped create too much pressure in the mainfold (correct me if im wrong)

Thanks to doc for the tune and dervin for helping in the cleanup

I agree... but im happy with these numbers in 4th gear.

Ill upload pics of both this dyno and my last dyno with the intense tune.

this new one looks like they may have the lines magnified to really show the changes in hp/tq as the older one looks like a straight line.

LOL Doc i just went out to my car checking the oil and there was a graveyard of those lil nats that were driving you crazy....

wherever the oil hit on the car i guess they landed in it and just died...
