You won't need to worry about heat soak soon enough

With meth injection you get heat soak so I hope your not speaking about that.

Idling causes heat soak, decel causes heat soak. And blah blah blah

Yes there will always be SOME heat soak. But you CAN make it matter less and less...

So what happens is the actual car looses power.

The dyno can not correct the fact of timing lost due to temps. It can factor in the temp, but it can not ask the engine or the ECM how much power it actually lost due to knock retard and Etc.
ahh ok now i understand.

So much fail. I dont even know where to begin... His AFR alone im not super shocked it put down low numbers. But it could be a heart braking dyno but admitting the tune was not spot on only hert's even more.. IMHO his bad/pig rich tune hert him more than the hot temps did. As ive put many a car on the dyno in 110+ degree weather(at UTI rancho in the summer) and with alittle tweaking was able to to meet or beat cold weather dyno #'s and even break records given enough time to tune and tweak. But this was a dyno run only no tuning. Steve GET TO WORK!

I understand that big rich like that was a problem what i didnt understand was why it mattered what the outside temps was because no one said he was heat soaking till later.

I'm sure the 94 ambient temp played a small role in the low numbers but I know its all in the tune. Like they say, leaner is meaner. Again I'm on a zzp canned tune for the moment

either something wrong with that dyno or your car thats way too low and unacurate. but then again at the end its just numbers..

Not having the time to tweak/tune makes it clear that even in cold weather i dont think he would have done better. AFR is the most crucial thing when on the dyno, Having the thermostat open early and the fan's to come on early are just easy way's of negating the heat soak on a hot day in any car. Also adding timing can produce great results even if it's over 100 out. The outside temps didnt matter as can be proven by the 210 WHP stock IRL which is right where it should be seeing as it's rated at 205/200 at the crank and put more than that to the tires which is normal even given drivetrain loss and outside temps as they are underrated in stock form. His setup and tune is what made low#'s IMHO. Steve get to work buddy! One day ill have an IRL for you to work on! There so cheap now lol! And why not throw the racecar prius on the roller's....?
