Dynoed Magnaflow 2.5?

Has anyone dynoed the magnaflow 2.5 exhaust? They claim 7hp but is that what everyone with the exhaust is getting?

No idea. I just got it, and I will say it added some power. about a carlength or 2 in the 1/4 mile. My brother has a Ion redline and he used to beat me by a few cars (he has Cold Air intake and 3 inch custom exaust) I raced him recently and run with him easily and also pulled on him a few times. WIth time (maybe the computer adjusting to it) it feels even quicker then when I first raced him. Might really beat him now hehe!

Theres more to worry about then just HP gain. Lets say I could give you a 3.5 exaust that added 18 HP. It sounded like complete crap.

now theres another that sounds totally awesome (MAGNAFLOW!) and only adds 7 or 8. Which one you gonna take?

Hell I bought a cobalt cause I liked the way it looked and what speed it offered, teh above scenerio is like buying a cobalt and stripping the interior and exterior to practically nothing just to have a fast car. Its not worth it in the long run.

Hey Xenozx, did you unhook your battery when you installed the exhaust?

I took it to a muffler shop, and no they did not disconnect the battery, I watched the whole install. Pretty easy stuff.

You should disconnect the battery for about 10 minutes. Your car will respond to the exhaust way better.

PS. Next time you want something installed, PM me and I'll help you do it. Doing it yourself saves money and it is fun to do.

How does it sound? Is it louder than stock? Does it pop somewhat? (I like popping but not too much popping because then it sounds like its pooping....that was pretty korny I'll have to admit )

I recently bought an AEM drycharger (to test for CEL before I spend 200+ on a CAI). If I get in over my head I may take you up on that offer. Waiting for delivery.

It sounds great. The exaust note is determined based on how much boost you are pushing. at idle, or non full throttle you can hear it a little louder then stock which I prefer for when I am in chill mode. When that boost starts to move upward the exaust opens up and sounds pretty ruff, when under full throttle you really hear it and it does not sound ricey. there is pops light and minimal when slowing down and such.

You can do also a custom one for roughly the same results and a little bit less money.
