Does anyone know if we can run E 85 ethonal fuel in a 06 SS SC 2.0? and if so what do we have to change to convert over to it?

 

I am not too sure why you would want to do that. My understanding of E85 is that the emissions are a bit lower but you loose MPG in the process. Not too sure if the power outputs between fuels are the same.

 

there are drag cars that run off of e-85 but in all practical purposes... you really dont need to specially with gas prices so low

 

I was thinking about it because of the higher octan rating

 

if u want higher octane, get meth injection, not e85.

 

ok what is the cost of a meth injection kit ?

 

About 215 bucks. But you have to factor in the cost of meth, but its not that expensive.

Also, to get any real power out of it, you need to get a tune.

 

what kind of hp increase am i going to see with the meth? I have an air box mod GM ported header high flow cat carbon muffler 3" and has ben tunend by wicked05ss.

 

e85 is just 105 octane rated fuel of gas+alcohol.

If your going to do that just get a meth kit + denatured alcohol and enjoy 130 octane.

or get methanol which i think is 123-125. not like you can take advantage of it.

i gained approximately 10-15 whp with it, and kept ALOT of power up top. It was very noticeable.
