Yeah with pump gas its doable but difficult. Its not too reliable to make that much power on pump gas without spray. With e85 it will run cooler which will allow you to run more timing and a leaner AFR (actually richer due to the different stoichiometric value) but the equivalent to leaner on normal gas. So basically you can tune more aggressively on it like you can on race gas. At least thats is my understanding.

im actually getting ready to do it myself. im pushing the stock pulley as far as i can before i pulley down, and this will help get me further. e85 has a higher octane rating, 105 i believe it is. we all know (at least i hope) the higher the octane, the more resistance to knock. therefore, you can make a huge bump up in timing without detonation due to the higher octane. also more fuel is being added to the cylinder, so in theory should help keep cylinder temps down. as it stands right now, if anyone is looking to switch to e85 for mileage, dont. while the price of e85 is around gasoline, you end up using on average 40% more fuel, therefore, costing you more

injectors and a tune. thats all that should be needed. seals and fuel lines should be fine for use with ethanol

injectors will be needed because of the amount of fuel needed. im going to use 60 lb/hr injectors. but keep in mind, this is on the stock m62 pulley. smaller pulleys will need larger injectors accordingly

79's probably won't be enough for TVS and E85

in whatever modifications you do, just remember when switching to e85 you'll need to push about 40% more fuel than you would with gasoline. so just plan ahead and do it right the first time.

Agreed... e85 is pretty much a cheap race gas but you have to dump a ton of it to make the power, unlike conventional race gas... but i personally know tom aka wickedss and he was running the TVS with 60lbers for a little while and it was fine so i wouldn't see a problem with running the 79s and a proper tune for the e85... and yes higher octane fuel allows you to run more timing, i just hope you plan on buying the supporting mods to get the full potential out of that motor

I think it a great way to push the stock pully to its limmets. Im going to do this as soon as i get the money but everone was telling me dont waste my time just run meth same gains pluse keeping mpg. Daily driving it's not a good idea just because it'll cost more. But for racing, it's amazing. Think about it, 105 octane fuel for ~$1.70-1.80. The extra timing would be a nice bump in power.

think 60#'s with my 2.8 would be big enough injectors to run e85?
