if you're setting your stoich to 10.0 or 9.75, or 9.88, you're an idiot. "well they told me this was the stoich of e85" no, not even close. "i tested it with a test and it said 85%" again. no.

read and learn kids.

Injector Dynamics - Alcohol Article

here is a question lesson for you. run your car empty on fuel. fill it up. log the fuel trims. do some simple math and see what number you come up with. if you're maf i anywhere close to where it is supposed to be. you will see something fun happen. take your stoich commanded afr and divide by the percentage of the fuel trims. what commanded afr do you come up with after this?

hmmmmm?

hate to say it to ya bud, there is a hidden fail in this. over a certain amount of time there will be a film build up that can not be removing by simple solvents. for some stupid reason gasoline takes it off with ease. more or less the by products that are left in the tank and get picked up by the ethanol. so every 6 months or so, run a two tanks of gasoline through the system to clear this mess out.

This presents itself as a pain for those who dont have access to hp tuners and can tune themselves for this change. maybe if ZZP comes out with a table to adjust timing based on ethanol content it would be simpler.

there is a lot more than just a timing adjustment. you also have to adjust the stoich afr, and sometimes the maf scaling if it's not dead on

hahaha you just made my point. I dont know anything about tuning so for me to switch to 93 is a 5-600 ordeal. whereas for you it would be no big deal due to your expertise in tuning. That is almost the price of hp tuners... It would almost make sense for me to buy it and learn a bit about tuning so i can do this and possibly switch it for long trips.

I've wondered if something like this occurs with E85. Thanks for the info.

I know you are a knowledgeable member and so is blazzin but can you elaborate? Link some articles? I am not calling bullsh!t just I have never read anything about that in all my googling. I even know italianjoe personally and have never heard anything about that even when he tuned me a couple months ago. Just cause I bought some seafoam last week can the fuel system be "cleaned" with something like that or anything off the shelf? Would there possibly be and bad effects from using something like that either by dumping it in the tank or sucking through the vacuum line?

I have a question. I will be putting on a TVS this winter, if I go with E85 then I would go with 80# injectors, if for some reason they drop E in my area, can I stay with the 80's on meth with no idle problems ect??
