engine hopping - questions - info
hello,
I have a ss/sc 07 2.0. 8,500 miles after 3 months. it hops a lot. I read in previous thread that I can use an ingalls torque damper, transmission mount, engine mount, bar strut, etc....
I am planning on, in the future, replacing the intake with an aem or k&N (I know KN not AEM) and later a stage 2.
I like to drive aggressively but not like a f#$&^ crazy as I don't want to destroy my car I bought new with hard earned cash.
I also read that some of you were discussing about rattle noise in the engine compartment while idle (at a stop). I hear the same only after 8,500 miles!!!
I also read that always being in depression with your clutch at a stop is not good. Well, I have been driving manual cars for 15 years and never had a problem with a transmission (manual) even after 60,000 miles.
my question:
Is the following a good start in reference to my desire (stop the hopping to the maximum, get the right intake because of the ingalls)
ingalls
intake (AEM)
stage2
Do you have any other comments as to improve the grip of the front without changing the tires? Also, I am on a limited budget so each $ counts.
I am sure some of you will say that.... I can read previous threads.. which I did, but I could not find the exact answer as to what is the minimum to do knowing what is coming in the future. Any extras I should add.
Finally, I too often go to the redline. What is the module that I can buy that will tell me when it is time to shift?
and to close this.. thread... where do you buy your parts? I am in NC but internet opens the barriers
thank you

Raptor makes a shift light kit you can buy!
You may want to learn how to drive the car better man... these cars do not like REDLINE drivng!
I have the Ingalls and it gets rid of alot if not all of the motor movement under acceleration!

redline
yeah... I usually don't drive to the redline but from1st to 2nd gear it often happens although now I am more careful.... don't worry, it does not happen everytime I take the car for a spin... ahahahah... and I do know how to drive a car but always learning more about its limits...
thank you

ingalls and air intake
hello,
yesterday I installed my Ingall and I feel a little bit more vibration inside but better grip. I also installed my new K&N Typhoon and the sound is really great, the air flow seems better and less hic hup...
remember that when you install the typhoon. don't let anything get inside the tube... or it will go inside your lovely engine... 1hour 20 minutes to mount. bit difficult to pass it from underneath but after pushing here and there all is good.

Nice. Now, if you still have some wheel hop (you will, if you push it
) you may want to consider one, some, or all of these:
Prothane transmission bushings (or solid tranny mounts);
traction bars;
polyurethane control arm bushings.
Will help!
