EVAP system delete.
title says, this is what I want to do, remove the canister, plug the fuel tank and plug the throttle body, and then tune for it.
Is this possible? Has anyone done it?
any ideas of what I would need to do exactly?
Thanks
Kev.

what edzactly will that do? i dont think it will get u any more power... its just a vent for the gas tank.( holds fine vaporised gas) for the most part i would think it would help you out.

You'll lose the weight of all the crap you'll be taking off... and you might gain a HP or two from plugging the vacuum port on the TB. Its not a huge gain... but it'd still give a small gain. A small gain here, small gain there... add them all up and you might have something to talk about.
I dunno for sure though if there'd be any other gain.

By not going, I guess. I don't have to pass emissions.
Then don't do it.
Plugging the Vacuum port would be one less section of hose that your engine has to pull vacuum (power) for. You won't smell gas - I did this on my Jetta last year. And 10 lbs here, 10 lbs there... add it all up and you can end up losing a lot of weight. I removed twenty ~10lbs things from my DSM... shed a good bit of weight.

the purpose for me because I have a couple evap solenoids that are broken, and I really don't want to buy them, a lot of cars have a vented gas cap anyways, so you wont really smell gas at all, I'm thinking i plus both the ports on the tank and TB, get rid of all the vac lines, and then figure out what to tune.
Any ideas on that last part?
I know a ton of people personally that have done entire evap system deletes with no problem...emissions aren't a problem in Michigan

No. From what I remember when I did my Swap... the Evap System is the Hard Line that Attaches to the Throttle Body. There is no tie in with the Bypass Valve... the Bypass Valve's vacuum hub or whatever it was is just located next to where the Evac Line plugs into.

I wouldn't know about the tuning aspect... I'm not sure how greatly it'll affect things. Only way to find out... is to do it.
I'd remove the hose and plug both vacuum ports... and scan it like that before removing everything. If it ends up being a dramatic change... you can always put the hose back on. That's if you don't have access to a tuner. If you have access to a tuner, or are a tuner, you can always just post up your changes for the rest of us to see and know.

Yes it has been done. A local did it after his turbo swap cause he kept getting codes. I dont know the specifics of it and never heard any tuning complaints from him.

That's what I want to do. Install a return line system and get rid of all the evap crap. I'm turbo swapped with the zzp kit so do I just plug the manifold where the evap line connects to?
