Well my cars been running pretty shitty at times, and by shitty I mean shifting into 2nd or 3rd it bogs a little, almost falling on its face. It didnt happen all the time, but once in awhile.
Well today it happened again, so I got pissed and brought my car to WOT. What do you know, the CEL comes on. Now luckily Im a Tech at a Chevy dealer, so I was able to bring my car in and check out whats goin on. I had a p0103 dtc, which is the MAF high frequency code, which sets if the MAF senses "too much air" flowing.
So I peeled away my fender-well to inspect my AEM Dry-Flow filter, and it just so happened to be covered in Ice, water and salt.
Immediatly I took the intake off and replaced it with my OEM, I cleared the code and took it for a ride. What a difference! Drove very smooth and seemed to allow more air into my motor as it felt more alive.
So if your in a shitty region like me, where there is about 2 feet of snow on the ground and below zero windchills, take a look at your filters, it may be causing your 'balt to run poorly like mine did.

I had the same code and someone said it was from the maf reading to much air comming into the intake. I had the code disabled through Hptuners. I dont klnow if it works though.

hmmm. i was wondering if this would happen but it's way too much of an ordeal to check. this just gave me incentive to check the filter and possibly put a hydroshield on it.

I have been all through the bad and the injen has held up so far. I took it out today at -2 degrees and it was sweet actually. I came close to hitting 14 boost with it. I was very certain to seal the panels back up good when I installed it though. Plus, I always warm my car up 20 minutes running; also, artificial heat when needed with ice cover.

I haven't drove the balt when there was actual snow or even water on the roads, only when they are dry and white from salt(everything around here is blacktop). But i am also seeing a sweet 14lbs of boost due to - temperatures outside.

i dont understand, why would it say too much air is flowing if the filter was dirty?
i took the bottom cover off my air box back in the summer and everything was fine, when i changed the filter a couple months ago i cut off the bottom splash guard, not all the way to the fliter but right up to it and the next day i started getting a cel. it comes and goes, it usaully comes under wot then cuts off after a few days. maybe i have the same problem.

I get the same code when I drive on the highway for long periods of time. When I get off the highway and go through town, every time I shift it falls on its face until I clear the code. This has been happening since the summer, and when I checked my filter, it looked fine. I guess I need HP tuners.
