Yo man, welcome to the forum. Uhm, wlel before others get a chance, I would like to say there is a trhead with sound clips that can answer this for you. Use the search button and type in 'official exhaust thread' and you'll see the numerous exhaust threads around here.

Although there are many threads concerning this issue, I personally would not recommend the Pacesetter exhaust. If you are looking for a quiet performance exhaust, then i would go with either the Corsa or GMPP touring exhaust. Pricey, but definately worth the money.

May I ask why is it you NEED a catback right now. Save your money for good, quality parts!

Is Pacesetter that Ebay brand witht the Ferrari horse logo? If it is I would stay away. Nothing better than keeping you warrenty and going with quality GM parts!!!!!!!!!!

the pacesetter is not as bad as people make it out to be... when i just had the exhaust, it sounded awesome... it was very deep, not raspy at all, and pretty loud, but not really obnoxious... since i added the CA downpipe, it's VERY raspy at higher rpms... i'm looking into a resonator...

but it's holding up fine, and almost everyone here that has one would recommend it...

Well, if you run a lean code and hurt your motor because of an aftermarket exhaust I'm sure they will not replace it... As far as the Pacesetter thanks for the info, just seemed kinda like crap from what I've seen, I'm gald it works!!

I payed $350 shipped for a megan racing fully polished stainless steel cat back, and Its great. Deep throaty tone, and not ricer sounding. I got mine off of ebay brand new and it came with a silencer to quiet it down, because it is loud.

I also have the pacesetter exahust and I like it.

But this is what Im in the process of doing I Have a pacesetter header a bunch of stainless steel tubing a vibrant high flow cat pacesetter catback(installed) and a magna flow muffler.

So im switching out my pacesetter muffler for a magna flow witch is what I would recomend if you dont want the pacesetter any more. Dont get me wrong I love the pacesetter on a stock car but after a high flow cat and header it sounds horible. So I would recomend buying the Pacsetter for the pipes and swap it out for a magnaflow muffler.

Hmmm, I was unaware MEGAN RACING made a catback for the cobalt. I think you got ripped, their website dosent even list it. They probly gave you the muffler and some tubing that fit.
