Exhaust Opinion

I would get the best gains with a 3"exhaust correct? Im debating between the magnaflow or going with a 3" setup with a universal borla muffler/highflo cat. I know it will be loud but is the gain worth it? I plan on draggin at the track.

2.5 inch should be good up to 300 whp (i've heard even more than that too) But yeah if you want optimal hp, 3 inch is the way to go. However, I only spent 481 shipped for my magnaflow catback exhaust. You can't go wrong with that.

I have heard it first hand, both at idle and at WOT. It sounds very much like a BMW 330 - deep and throaty sounding - not raspy or ricer at all. It's one of the best I've heard yet on the 2.0L.

Thats what most are saying. I just wanted to make sure cuz SOME people are saying it is really ricey sounding......probably the ones that don't have it, just heard the sound clips. I really needed to hear opinions from the people that have heard it first hand. Thanks

It was on my car that he heard it and believe you me, it's the nicest sounding exhaust on a 4 banger that I have heard. The Corsa system is nice too but at the price difference I feel that it does not justify the premium.

you can delete your own threads.

And guys you don't need to worry about dupe threads, thats what I am here for. And sometimes mistakes happen so lets not jump on someone for it.

A full 2.50" exhaust will be more than enough for anyone on this site.

If for some reason you do decide on a 3" system spend some money on a real muffler. The cheap fart cans (Altered Atmosphere, Vibrant) are complete junk and are a glasspack than a muffler. Use a quality oval or round muffler like Magnaflow, Borla or Dynomax.

BS

Sorry to say it, But that gain is just the loudness getting to your brain. i have been talking to TTR and Vibrant trying to find out about this whole "full exhaust" they are making. It comes down to this. The 3 inch is too big. They actually gained very few hp power and no torque.

here is what TTR sent me back

They are looking into potentially doing a 2.75 system, the exhaust was so big there was not enough velocity to gain any torque while installing the exhaust. They feel with the header it would have been to big of a system, Loud and possibly lost a little bit of bottom end grunt. They are testing out a 2.75 system separate, then with the header to make sure they can pick up power both ways.

No time frame til shipping yet.

Search for part number 14128 and 14129. The price looks good but they get you with $144 shipping to bring the prices right up to where everyother vendor is.
