Few Quick Questions.

I am having a shop on Wednesday install my header/downpipe/cat combo along with my eibach lowering springs. They charge 65 dollars per hour. I was wondering how much you think it would cost or how long it would take for them to install the parts.

Also, if I buy the cx racing heat exchanger kit for 275 that comes with brackets and everything needed, how long do you think it would take a shop to install that?

Also, if I bought the dual pass end plate with option b, how long do you think it would take a shop to install that?

The shop is a dyno shop that has installed many many things on many cars. Twin turbo kits, my buddies hahn turbo kit in his 2.4 sedan, along with lots of other stuff, so they know what they are doing, and will let me watch and learn the whole time so I know they are working etc.

Thank you guys so much for your help.

PS: Do you think it would be better to have GM install the dual pass end plate with option b, and if so, how much would it cost to have them install it, and do I have to buy it from them. Thanks.

Except the major part of where I have a broken back.

I really hate that response. Everyone says to do stuff your self. There are some people that can't physically do the stuff themselves and need someone else to do it. Or there are some people that don't have the time/tools/knowledge/ to do it themselves.

So, with that being said. How much do you think a shop would charge for the above at 65dollars an hour, or how many hours do you think it would take to install the above.

And should i have the dyno shop install the dual pass end plate with option b, or gm. Thanks.

dude all that stuff can be installed in less the 5 hours if you have a friend there to help you with the springs. its best to learn yourself cuz you never know someone might come around and ask you to change there springs and you can make some money of them for doing it. all that is not that hard to change

the springs should only take an hour to do if the tech knows what he is doing. my brother did mine in our shop with an alignment took him just under an hour and a half. and the exhaust shouldn't take more then an hour again if the tech knows what he is doing. just my opinion, but make sure you get the alignment you won't regret it.

great thanks guys. Do you guys know how long it would take roughly for the shop to install the heat exchanger kit, comes with mounting brackets, hoses, everything needed, and do you know roughly how long it would take for the dual pass end plate with option b, or should I have gm do that.

This shop KNOWS there stuff very well.

Again, I can not do any of this stuff because I am very ill, my back is broken, and I deal with very very severe pain every day. I can't do this work, so please don't tell me that I can.

I would say an hour each for exhaust and springs. The heat exchanger might be a little longer due to the fact that is kinda custom fab to mount, bleed the system and all. The option b is kind of a pain in the ass because the area is hard to get at, that might take some time. But a chevy dealer will most likely charge you a hell of a lot more than that shop.

Great great. So i should figure around 65 dollars for the header/downpipe/cat, and 65 dollars for the springs. Then for the heat exchanger we will say tops 3 hrs, so that would be 195, and then the dual pass would be tops 3hrs im gonna guess so again 195. so total that is 520 dollars. I bet they will charge me a hell of a lot less then that though because I know them very well, and I am having them do my tuning. I can't believe it would take that long for a heat exchanger since it comes with mounting brackets. But does that sound reasonable?

I think you're right in assuming that it will be less. If the shop is reputable, and have done cobalts before, you're golden. Did you mention to them that the heat exchanger is not a 'stock' addition?

To be honest, at this point they think there just installing my header/downpipe/cat and it will take under an hr to do they said. I will tell them monday that they will be doing more work, and making sure they can do it, and getting price quotes. I don't have the parts yet anyways, minus the springs.

I am just wondering if I really need the dual pass and heat exchanger if I am running meth. Maybe I will just wait and see what my IAT2's are and then go from there.
