A few things troubling me.

I have a few issues I'm trying to straighten out. First is my idle is kinda rough. I can feel the car shaking at idle and can see the engine torquing back and forth marginally. Second is I can hear an audible ticking from near the fuel rail I think. I assume it's the injectors firing so that is prolly a normal sound. Third thing is that I hear faint sounds similar to rocks Oma tumbler near the s/c. I had the timing chain tensioner replaced about 2 years ago so I don't think it's that. How long does the supercharger snout last. Car has 61k on it and s/c oil hasn't ever been changed. Sry input guys?

The rocks sound more than likely is your supercharger coupler, the ticking is the injectors more then likely, the stock ones can be loud at times and in regards to the idle more than likely your spark plugs need to be changed or you got some bad fuel.

Plugs were out of spec at .050" about a week ago. I regapped them to .034". I think I'll change them soon though. Is the coupler known to go bad at certain intervals or is it because I haven't changed the superchargers oil for 61k miles? Thanks.

Bump

It's not an idle surge. The revs don't spike but the engine shakes and torques at idle.

A belt tensioner going out could cause a clicking/ticking sound and a sporadic idle. Mine went out at about 31k miles. I replaced it with a ZZP unit and the sound went away/idle went back to being nice and smooth.

Belt issues could aggravate a worn snout coupler, which could be why you are just now noticing the S/C sound.

How bad is the shaking? You might want to check the compression in the cylinders, could be misfiring

Wouldn't a misfire throw a code?
