Question Fluid...Dex-Cool

Ok so I was looking under the hood and the container sitting in the front (noted TVS fluid) might sound dumb. But it is completely empty. Do I have to get Dex-Cool or can I get something else? opinions/ answers. Thanks

any 50/50 mix of coolant...you can go as nice as Royal Purple or just the Walmart brand...doesnt matter.

if you still have dexcool keep using dexcool. dont ever mix dexcool with the green stuff, it will slug up on you and clog your system up and smell like rotten fish also. so unless you flushed your system out keep with the dexcool

This isn't correct. The only side effect of mixing green and orange coolant is that you lose the extended life properties of the orange coolant. Slugging up will only happen in a dexcool system when there is air present, do to either a low fluid level or a leak.

BINGO!!! the only differences is that Dex Cool uses a silicate additive, thats why when air is introduced into the system, it turns gooey, not crusty like most other coolant.

sorry i was always told never mix the two they would cause slugging, thanks for teaching me something new. learn something new everyday

so on my next question then what coolant has the best cooling properties, or what the best mixture to go with for a coolant/additive and brand, but what combo is going to have the best cooling properties
