Fram Air Filter
Has Anybody Replaced There Old Stock Air Filterfor The Fram Air Filter. I Tried To Install It But There I An Orange Thing On He Other Side Of He Filter. I Wonder If U Got To Force It In To Close The Box Or If U Got To Do Some Modifacation To The Filter So It Can Fit. So I Can Close The Box
can sombody please help me. i didnt put the lid back on because it dosent fit. i dont want water to get into the supercharger

no its not upside down. i put it in the hole were the filter goes but on the other side of the filter it has a orange rubber that doesnt let me close it with the lid.

yea but with the airbox mod u used a k&n filter.
i tried forcing it but it still was not going in. should i make a hole by cutting the orange rubber on the fram filter
ive been driving with out the lid, is that bad.

The Fram doesn't quite fit, I tried too. It's close, but the airbox lid has an indent that doesn't work with the filters flat bottom. I think Fram has the same part listing for the ss/sc and the Trailblazer, so I dunno if the they just eyeballed the filters and assumed it'd work for both or if there was a change somewhere along the line. I just ended up getting another Delco from the dealer.
If you cut into the filter, it stops being a filter. And careful driving around with the lid off, there's nothing holding the filter on.
