fried my pcm
fried my pcm
Any Ideas, I was programming my pcm with hp tuners and now it won't communicate anymore. The pcm won't turn on the cel when I create codes. The only scan tool that communicates with the pcm is the aeroforce gauge.
dude WTF! thats exactly what happened to me today. My hPtuners cannot connect to the pcm. and if I try to connect with the VCM scanner it says the vcm cant be located. and it throws a little LOCK thingy code. is that happening to you too?
Don't quote me on this but I believe our PCMs have a certain amount of times they can be flashed before they go kaput! I doubt any of you guys have reached that point but I would say around 100+ would put you in the odds of it happening.
phil you are wrong my friend... flashed mine now close to 200 times.. still going strong..
reset the battery... and try to get it to scan again.. good chance you might have reflashed a different VIN # onto the car... I did that the first time I flashed mycar... but fixed it
somehow

NO where near 100 flashes. It acts like it is not plugged in . it says interface found but no vehical power detected.
The car runs but it is in limp mode with no check engine light.

i don't think planned on someone like me doing what I do to the poor poor car... lol
thats was just for the power error you were getting.. nothing to do with the limp mode..
have you added any electronic components lately?

I've flash my car over 200 times....its still going strong.
not sure about the CEL...but were you logging the car? Playing a log back? Have the Scanner open or just connected? If you did, close them and the scanner and try again.

Well I still think its a possibility but I doubt its the Problem in this thread.
I am sure it is the pcm.I can unplug sensors and it doesn't set the cel it does set codes I can read with my aeroforce gauge but the hptuner scaner or vcm editor don't comunicate.I tried them on my truck and it seems to work fine.
The aeroforce gauge doesn't use the OBDII power. The MPVI does. Have you checked the fuse. If you are in limp mode there is a code set what is it?
Did you flash it and it went hay wire?
If you want help you need to be clear on how you got to the situation your in.

Okay I have the same problem as him. however my car works fine. I was tunning my friends car and all of the sudden we tried to flash it and it did not work. It did not connect. then the car would not turn on, we waited a while and then the car started! so we drove to my house and checked the hptuners on my car and it did not work. It did not connect either. I didnt try to rewrite my car but tried using the vcm scanner, When I tried to connect the vcm scanner, (like when I pressed play) it made a weir bell sound, and then it showed the icon thats an orange lock with a car on the side. This same icon goes on when you lock your car with you keyless remote.
