Fuel Rail!!

Well I finally got aroung to installing some mods I had left over as I was waiting for my injectors to arrive. Went I went to install the injectors and take the rail off, the nut siezed and broke off the rail. S&^%!!! So needless to say I need a new rail.

I had to get the car up and running for work today so I made a 2.2 fuel rail work on my LSJ. Its very interesting to see and I think it looks much cleaner LOL!!! Car runs good so far with no leaks at all.

I installed 2.5 pulley, LS4, and 80's

And my mistake

And my fix:

I used 2 wrenches and even now out of the car it still wont come apart. I must have over tightened it one of the last times working on the car

Ah, i see. You looking for a new LSJ rail? cuz i just have a feeling that one isn't quite right, after all, that line with the regulator in it is there for a reason

The issue of the end of rail regulator, the tapered internal bore, all make me beleive that it would be a good thing to use the stock part, as nice as it looks.

Hamfisted tightening/loosening of the LSJ fuel rail nut leads to the failure the OP showed. I have done it myself as well,( lazy, not using two wrenches , leads to dumb ass self inflicted wounds that dont count.)

I have lots of rails fortunately....

lol, i did the same exact thing to my cobalt when i installed my TVS. Went to a junk yard and bought a fuel rail off a saturn redline with only 8000km on it.

just a question, but I notice that you have a filter on the back of your valve cover. That wouldn't by any chance be for the pcv valve would it? i know it's off topic, but i'm just curious

Test drove the car. Drives just like normal. I just flashed the car for the 2.5 and 80's. Vince said he sent me a quick safe tune to get it running right to log. At WOT I'm hitting 17.2lb's of boost in 2nd gear and afr's are way rich. In the 9's. So I don't think there is an issue with fuel supply here. I mean the 2.2 guys are using this rail with 60's on their sc conversion.

But we will see the more I drive it. I only did this to get it running till my other one comes in.

The filter on the valve cover is for the pcv system. I didn't like recircing junk back into the intake.

Lol yeah!! The girl was driving my car cause I was logging others tonight. She said he only wanted to do a 35 roll and he jumped it 1st. She told me she passed him by end of 2nd gear and just kept pulling lenghts LOL!!!

So after logging and doing some pulls, car is seeing 10.2ish afr's with no drivabilty issues so far. Everything seems normal.

By the way Jordan, I love the LS4 and 2.5 now. The sc just screams

Full bolt on's. 2.5 catless exhaust, LS4 w/spacer, ported blower, h/e, dull pass, opt b, mounts, axles, and Rebal 3in intake which I measured and it's 3in outside diameter and tuned by Trifecta.

Exactly!!! It's so cool. We rolled the car at 5mph and pwoer shifted 2nd and it rolled smoke all the way into 3rd. It def has more torque now.

But i've been reading and researching and I need to upgrade to 3in exhaust now.
