Exclamation Fujita Intake Fitment Problems

I have read a lot of ways to get the intake to not rub. I wanna finish this tomorrow morning cuz my car has been jacked up since tuesday and i havent had time to finish it.

I've hear of two ways:

1) The how to that says to cut it and install the bracket but that seems complicated to me.

2) Then there were like two posts that said that it fits perfects if you don't use the bracket. Im assumin they mean the vibration mount. Is that safe?

What would you do?

I'm a fellow Fujita intake owner. And the key to it not rubbing is ADJUSTING! If you adjust it properly it will not rub. There is two rubber pipe thingys and if you push them farther in the better the fit. Adjust to fit is the key.

But doesnt the vibration mount hold the filter too low?

No it fits fine. Adjust to fit. It's frustrating but you'll be happy once you get it right.

The fitments fine like herndon high ss said it takes a little time, also on the shock mount , i didn't install mine in the suggested location because i will push the wheel well cover out( atleast mine did), so i atached the rubber mount to the bracket on the CAI, so it dosen't rub against the car, and pushed the piping as close together as i could!! no cutting required for me!!! took me two hours by myself!

Yea I spent 3 1/2 hours because of the damn clamps were too hard to tighten because of the limited space.

So if you dont screw in the vibration mount, will it shake or somethin. I was messin around wit it for a lil today and its gonna be hard to get the mount aligned with the hole.

The vibration mount should line up fine. If it doesnt you might want to make sure the inlet pipe connects to the rubber tube in deeper.

I cut the mount near the filter off and just let it rest in there and i do not have a rubbing or fitting issue.

NO IT DOES NOT FIT PROPERLY ON THE 07 SS/SC MODEL!

The Fujita fit problems are:

The underside of the 45 degree rubber boot off the throttle body hits the top 2 hard brake lines that run under it. There is no way it will clear them no matter how the boot is positioned and the rubber boot is kinda mushed against them a bit. This was a pretty stupid oversight in design to miss this hitting the the junction box hard lines.

Another problem is the fender liner will not properly fit back to its original position using the vibration mount and it sticks out over against the intake and the tire has now rubbed a hole thru the liner and against the intake. Tried all sorts of different positioning and with vibration mount on there is no way the fender liner will clear the intake and fit back properly so the tire doesnt run the liner. If the vibration mount is NOT used then the filter and intake tube can be turned and angled away from the fender liner.

There are 2 areas the intake hits and will cut a hole through it with engine torquing and vibration. The fender hole the intake fits dfown through is not big enough and it will hit on the forward side against the the sharp edge of the fender mold and it also will hit the edge of an aluminum bracket eventually poking a hole through the intake as well (see the carpet piece I wedged in at that area in one of my pictures)

The intake just doesnt fit right on the 07's period. The hard brake line controller is the main problem withthe TB coupler. It just aint right at all.

Threw a CEL lean bank code about 200 miles after CAI installed but I cleared it and it hasnt been back in the last 900 miles

Agreed, mine fits perfect, better than any Injen or K&N I've seen. Don't know why that is, but I've had ZERO fitment problems with mine.

Supercharged.

And I do not know what hard lines you are talking about. The random one that connects to the top pipe by the throttle body? The one that was as hard to get off as it is to get hard off your friend having sex with your mother?

No, the hard brake lines underneath the back intake boot in my pictures above. There are several of them under my boot that come out of a brake controlelr junction box or whatever its called.

05 and 06's have different placement of the breaklines when compared to 07s, this is for the SS SC
dunno about the other models.
