Hi everyone i know that deep down inside we all want to be on a game show.so im creating one
here on css.net, it will be called Name That Tuner now u must have a story to go along with
it all and pictures
Heres the story
this past saturday a few of us went to help out a tuner, well when we got there the hood was popped
the duct tape removed and we began the long task of replacing the rings in #1 due to the lack of compression.
well we found a few suprises such as the use of duct tape and silicone for a blower gasket, i was in awe of this
new gasket design i inquird as to were i could get one and its a one off custom temp fix gasket, thats been in
use for months ,can you imagine my dissapointment ?
well we finaly got the head off and again to our suprise the bores looked good, so as i reached to see how loose the slugs were in the bore. i was shocked you could almost see the whole top compression ring in #1cyl when you rocked the piston to one side. it was so loose you could fit a bigmac in between the piston and cyl wall.
so now we come to removing the oil pan, talk about comedy holy ****, between the squalling like a girl and the cussing somone else had to remove the pan and you know who you are. lol
so now we come to removing the slug and bam its out, i go to remove the rings and holy **** he burnt the rings out of #1 cyl, the rings had been so hot you could almost straighten them out by hand, now boys and girls it takes alot of heat to do that
so now i add this; well we all know that tuning can be hard, but this expert is a one of a kind and knows everything there is to know about tuning. he can even tune you without a wideband and get you to with in 4 points of perfection, my perfect tune afr was 16:1 at wot. well you know what they say, lean is mean.
so between the duct tape gaskets and the speaker wire rewire and trying to get home depot as a supporting vendor the car is up and running again but it seems to be going through dtws(duct tape withdrawl syndrome)
other then that, it runs great once again. even the other 3 bigmac loose pistons dont mind their
new roomy a new-used piston from yours truley, and a new set of rings.
now that the story has been told, of the expert tuner that is so bold, he inspired my game show, you know?
oh,by the way home depot wouldent sign on as a supporting vendor
