General 2.0 LSJ Modding Question

I don't plan on modding my 2007 LSJ very heavily. I have an Injen intake and the only other mods planned so far are ZZP downpipe. I just don't have the money to do much else cuz of college.

my question is: Do I need to worry about buying things such as the Interceptor gauge? and do I need to worry about getting a custom tune for just those two simple mods?

I have searched. I know a tune wont gain me much with those minimal mods but some people suggested doing them anyway.

Anyway i can monitor my iat2 without the interceptor though?

There is another option but I don't remember what it is called. If your on the stock pulley I wouldn't worry about it.

Just do some cooling mods like dual pass and option b. Cooler boost is always better boost and u dont need to tune for cooling mods beside going e85 and meth.

U may throw a code with the downpipe and if si good luck passing emmissions otherwise ur fine not tuning for those, but wont gain the full power potential as being tuned.

Interceptors are still good for checking and clearing codes if nothing else.

How much would those be? And what are the gains? (not just HP but like better engine health etc)

As for cooling mods, lower IAT2'S= happy car
If they get too high you could start pulling timing

Injen intake is junk for ss/sc. And why a downpipe if I may ask? But to answer your questions the answer to both is no. Save your money and dd it or mod later instead of pissing away money

and why is that? but it came with the car anyway. I want the downpipe for the sound mainly. and it'll restrict the air a little less

Downpipe and living in SoCal doesn't mix too well you'd definitely need a tune with a aftermarket downpipe living in SoCal
