axles, pistons, cams, to build a high hp motor you need the supporting mods first...

The sticker mod is a good one too... add about 50 stickers on there and you should easily be able to pull some incredible power thanks to the VTEC gods... this might only apply to ricers though... but I'm sure if you throw a primered body kit on your car that will help and an exhaust tip that you can hear across town...

I'm thinking some nitrous on a setup like mine should be good for close to 12's. Will probably need slicks and therefore axles to hit it though. I guess I'll find out eventually!

Definately; or at least drag radials.

itll be hard to hit 12s on a 2.7 even with meth, Youll need the tq of a 2.5"

Similar to your thread, he should probably either keep the 2.7" or go to a 2.9" or so and use a 50 shot. With a pulley in that range, a good tune, and a 50 shot he could pull off a high 12 with axles and drag radials.

Actually, I do not believe it is all that tough to hit high 12's without droppin pullies all the way down to a 2.5"...I'm runnin a 2.79" pulley with 42lb injectors, Vibrant 3" cat-back (big future plans) Injen CAI, ZZP front tranny mount, Eibach Sportlines, Cobra HE, Hurst Shifter and a bangin Tune Time tune by Matt, and I truly believe that I am in the low 13's right now. High 12's are not that far out of reach if you know how to take advantage of the cars potential.

oh my gosh people, one person names stickier tires. ONE. im through trying to get it into the thick skulls on this site that these cars need traction before adding power.

LIMIT BOOST IN FIRST GEAR!!! I'm telling ya, once you do that, the car is a whole nother beast. I have the LSD, and we limited boost in 1st, and she chirps em a bit then rolls out. My stock Pirellis have almost 17K miles on em, but then I haven't been out smokin em up everytime I drive. lol

I do agree though Hatrick..I truly believe that with ONLY suspension and wheel hop mods, that our cars are more then capable of high 13's out the box with NO power adders.

Actually three people said to use stickier tires and the first person mentioned that you would need axles with them.

one more question. do you think that set up would run ok with a dual pass plate rather then the full heat exchanger?

your right mikey my bad. i just get so mad always reading about how people want power, power, and more power. when i guarentee you a stock ss/sc with dr's and a torque dampner will smoke the majority of people runnign only stage 2 (or similar power adder)

Run both..There is nothing wrong with doing what you can to lower them temps. Mine does run a bit cooler when sitting in traffic now, compared to before the HE, but I still plan on doing the Dual Pass still also. Lower temps = More efficient Power..Damn, I sound like NJHK..lol

Motor mounts, stiffer springs and shocks and struts or Coilovers, and axles will get you in the high 13's without the DR's if you know how to launch. The DR's are nice, but if you don't know how to launch with em, then you may slow yourself down. At least the first run or two. Our factory tires are not bad tires, when there is tread left on em. lol.
